Our Story
We are Paul Jervis Heath and Chloe Heath.
We ran our own award-winning, multidisciplinary design practice and global innovation consultancy, called Modern Human. At Modern Human we worked with global tech firms and British household names; clients like the BBC, Tesco, Sony, University of Cambridge and the United Nations. We led the team at Modern Human through 100 projects designing all sorts of things: like dashboards for driverless cars; an App for doctors to more accurately prescribe medicines; smart home appliances; a geospatial information service that enable conservationists to protect endangered species; and a computer vision platform that powers intelligent environments. Our projects were big, and complex and we built an eclectic portfolio.
Prior to that, Chloe came from a business background and Paul from creative leadership roles at prominent London design firms. Running our own studio enabled us to build an outstanding team and create a unique creative environment in which they could invent the future for our clients.
We now bring all of that experience and those same skills in business operations, management, creative leadership and innovation to enable creativity to flourish in every business environment.

Paul Jervis Heath
Paul Jervis Heath was the award-winning, multidisciplinary creative brain behind Modern Human but he’s been a designer for much longer.
A veteran creative leader and product innovator, he made his name working for clients such as the BBC, IBM, VW, Electrolux, Tesco, Sony and the United Nations. He has designed just about everything from dashboards for autonomous vehicles and smart home appliances; intelligent environments and digitally integrated retail stores; publishing services that accelerate the pace of human discovery; geospatial information services that enable conservationists to protect endangered species; and platforms that power smart environments. He has designed libraries, call centres and augmented reality toys.
Before building his own design practice he helped two notable design firms sustainably double revenue and get acquired.

Chloe Heath
When we used to run our own design practice and innovation consultancy Chloe would often describe herself as the responsible adult in the leadership team. Her expertise is in making commercial sense of creativity and in processes and operations, in other words: providing a solid business foundation from which creatives can do what they do best.
Chloe is a seasoned leader with over 20 years of experience. As Managing Director of Modern Human, she specialised in business and design operations working with a portfolio of prominent clients such as Tesco, Sony, Arm, and the BBC. She now helps clients realise the value of innovation and design through strategy, creative operations and innovation management.
As well as a decade of running a design practice, Chloe also has an Executive MBA from the University of Cambridge, Judge Business School which means she’s equipped to provide the latest academic and commercial thinking to your challenges.
